JCM is 8MO

Hey Mister! This week you've been out in the world longer than I was pregnant with you. That' s sixteen months total that you've been in our lives. That's a crazy thought.

Jack 8 Months

This month you have done a lot of growing. You have big monkey feet and long, long toes. You are about to bust out of 6-9 month outfits but are still in a medium gDiaper, though, because you are a long and lean little guy.

You have six teethy chompers with one more coming in. I cannot believe you have so many teeth! You drink four 6.5 ounce bottles a day (still on breast milk! Mama's proud!) and eat a solid food snack three times a day. This month you tried zucchini, pears, peas, and oatmeal. You like everything you try so far and you will eat anything enthusiastically if it is paired with banana. I make all of your food and it is so much fun! I hope to keep it up and that you always enjoy your fruits and veg as much as you do now.

You are very, very mobile. You can get all over the room on your belly and are really good at turning yourself around. You're still "army crawling" (it's like you are auditioning for a spy movie and there are lasers everywhere), but you get up in a crawling position and we know it will be soon. You still love to stand with and without our help and can hold yourself up. It won't be long until you are walking! I'm just so proud of how strong you are.

You are in music class once a week and this past week you started spending one day at home with our new nanny named Brooke. You warmed up to her right away and she can't believe what a sweet natured little guy you are. The rest of the week it's you and me, Buddy, and we love our weekends when Daddy is hanging out with us all day. You have no signs of separation anxiety and will give anyone a smile, but you favor your Mama and Captain and have started reaching out to us. It's such a treat when you look up at me and smile with your arms stretched wide! Your other favorite "moves" are what we call "Knock on the door" and "Flap your wings." I can't wait until you start to boogie.

You love to babble and make all sorts of crazy noises and squeals. We love talking back and forth with you. We sing a little song that goes "Jackson Carl's got something to say! Jackson Carl's got something to say - What What!" You think we are so silly. We are! Getting a laugh out of you is our favorite past time.

We are celebrating the day you and your sister came into the world as we do every month - a cupcake and lots and lots of hugs. We love you so much and the sixteen months that the two of you have been in our hearts have been the best sixteen months of our lives.

I try to get the same picture of you each month - it's getting harder and harder, my puppy on the go!
